I’m pleased to welcome my next guest. Fellow Siren-Bookstrand author, Tara Rose stopped by to tell us about her next book, Seducing Carma, a title in her Passion Peak Colorado series. Welcome Tara!

Seducing Carma (MFM)

In SEDUCING CARMA, Passion Peak Colorado 1, hero Blaine Peterson is a piano player, and during an evening at his condo with heroine Carma Mandanici and the other hero in Seducing Carma, Mateo Alvarado, Blaine plays part of a Mozart Concerto for Carma. What follows is a hot ménage sex scene, part of which is highlighted below. But for now, I though it would be fun to further explore this concerto.

The Piano Concerto No. 17 in G major by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was written in 1784. According to the date that the composer himself noted on the score, the concerto was completed on April 12, 1784.

The work is orchestrated for solo piano, flute, two oboes, two bassoons, two horns, and strings. As is typical with concertos, it is in three movements: Allegro, Andante in C major, and Allegretto – Presto.

The date of the premiere is uncertain. In one view, the work is said to have been premiered by Mozart’s student, Barbara Ployer, on June 13, 1784 at a concert to which Mozart had invited Giovanni Paisiello to hear both her and his new compositions, including also his recently-written Quintet in E flat for Piano and Winds. Afterwards, Ployer was joined by Mozart in a performance of the Sonata for Two Pianos.

Another possibility is that Mozart did not wait over two months to premiere the work, but performed it in his concert with Regina Strinasacchi on 29 April 1784 at the Kärntnertortheater. As a general consensus for researchers, it can be said with relative certainty that the work premiered during the mid-to-late spring of 1784, following its completion.

Carma Mandanici is forced to confront her abusive past when an uncle she barely knows leaves her a large amount of money. She seeks comfort in the arms of longtime crush, Mateo Alvarado.

Mateo is more than happy to help Carma start to heal from her past, as well as explore her BDSM fantasies. But Mateo has a tragedy in his own past that he must confront before he can become a Dom to Carma, or allow himself to fall in love with her.

Blaine Peterson and Mateo have been friends since they met as freshmen in college. Blaine left behind a secret that involves his ex-submissive when he moved to Passion Peak to take a lucrative job and start over. He’s falling in love with Carma, right along with Mateo. But when his secret catches up with him, he might lose both his friendship with Mateo, and the one woman he can’t live without.

She smiled and turned toward Mateo. “You two both play a musical instrument. Why didn’t I know that before now?”

“Has Mateo played his sax for you?”

“Yes. He’s wonderful.”

“Well,” said Blaine, flexing his fingers and walking toward the piano. “Then allow me to dazzle you with my talent as well.”

Mateo snorted. “He’s not that good.”

“Yes I am,” said Blaine, running his hands over the keys. “But she already knows that.” The quick wink he gave her sent a shiver down Carma’s spine.

“Oh, so I get to compare you two now? I like that.”

Mateo’s grin and the smoldering look in his eyes sent her mind racing toward erotic thoughts. “Watch it, sub.” He moved toward her as Blaine began to play.

“That’s pretty,” she said. “What is it?”

“It’s from Mozart’s Piano Concerto in G Major.”

“Show off,” said Mateo, under his breath.

Carma giggled. “You sound jealous, Mateo.”

Mateo snuggled up behind Carma and cradled her in his arms, sending a thrill through her. “I told you to watch it. You’re being a brat tonight.”

“Sorry, Sir.” Carma had to bite the inside of her cheek both not to laugh, and then not to groan out loud as Mateo rubbed his impressive erection against the crack of her ass. Blaine’s fingers moved over the keys, and the beautiful strains of the music filled her soul, chasing away the last of her cares.

He nuzzled her neck. “Are you really, Carma? Or are you just trying to earn another spanking?”

“I think it’s a bit of both,” said Blaine.

Mateo kissed her neck again and Carma sighed out loud, melting into his embrace. “Is that true?”

“You’ve both discovered my secret.”

“I’m betting we could spend months with you and still not discover all your secrets.”

He brushed the fingers of one hand over her left breast, and Carma couldn’t help but moan. Blaine glanced at them for a second, his gaze full of lust and mischief, but he kept playing.

When Mateo cupped her breast through the dress, she sucked in a sharp breath as he teased her nipple. The touch sent electric jolts down to her throbbing clit and soaking wet pussy. Mateo took his arms from around her and unzipped the dress. Carma’s gaze flitted to the open windows facing the mountains, and Blaine must have caught the hesitation on her face and in her gesture.

“Don’t worry,” he said, his fingers still moving over the keys. “No one is close enough to see inside here. They’d have to be hiding in those trees with high-powered binoculars.”

The humor in his voice made her feel foolish for wondering, but when Mateo slipped the dress over her shoulders and down her arms, the foolishness melted away and all she felt was horny as hell for these smoking-hot men.

The music filled her mind, playing with her emotions and conjuring up images of naked, sweaty, twisting bodies, writhing on this floor in front of the piano. Should she suggest they simply stay in here, or should she confess her earlier fantasy of making love outside, under the stars and in view of the mountains?

Mateo let the dress fall. “Step out of it, Carma.” She couldn’t disobey. His voice had taken on that commanding tone again, and she was powerless to ignore it. She didn’t want to resist him. Her entire body ached for his caress, and she was compelled to do whatever he asked of her.

She stepped out of it and handed it to him. He draped it over a chair and then he moved her closer still to the piano. Carma could feel the vibration from the music in the floor, and it thrummed throughout her body now, filling her with emotion and longing she could barely hang a label on.

Blaine kept playing, but now his eyes were on her instead of the piano keys as Mateo unhooked her bra and slipped the straps off her shoulders. She could feel his body heat behind her, and she knew if she turned around and glanced into his eyes she’d see the same desire in them that shone from Blaine’s.

When Mateo took off her bra, Blaine’s gaze traveled over her breasts, and the raw animal lust in his eyes forced a moan from her. Her entire body trembled now as Mateo slid off her soaking wet panties and lifted one foot then the other until she’d stepped out of them. Then she slipped off her sandals.

“Fucking useless panties,” he muttered. “They’re so damn wet.”

“I can’t help it,” said Carma. “You both do that to me.”

My guest today is fellow author Colette Saucier. She dropped by today to tell us about her latest new romantic suspense thriller, Alicia’s Possession. Romantic thriller readers? Alicia’s Possession is one for the keeper shelf!

What’s New

I have a brand new novel out, the romantic suspense thriller Alicia’s Possession. I am so excited that it has been the publisher’s bestselling Romantic Suspense almost since its launch three weeks ago and the #1 bestselling BDSM—eeek!—for over a week!

In the story, Alicia has just awoken from a coma caused by a freak car crash, but now she has retrograde amnesia and cannot remember the accident or the weeks leading up to it. After finding out her husband had been having an affair, she has thrown him out and is living alone, dealing with the aftereffects of the head injury as well as major depression from the collapse of her marriage. Then she witnesses bizarre occurrences in and around her home. She thinks she hears gunshots in the middle of the night, and her neighbor mysteriously disappears. Then odd things begin to occur inside her own house, and she begins to believe her neighbor was murdered and is now haunting her. She calls the police to investigate, but the detective finds more questions than answers and doesn’t know if she’s paranoid or delusional or guilty of something herself. One thing he does recognize, though, is she needs someone to take care of her—take control—and he believes he is the man who can do it. This is my first foray into (extremely mild) BDSM, so it includes light bondage and Dominance and submission. Alicia’s Possession is available in all eBook formats from all the normal sources, and I can even inscribe your eBook! This link has info on that:

Alicia’s Possession:  Haunted by a traumatic accident and her husband’s betrayal, Alicia believes she can never trust again. Now she must surrender her will to Mason if she wants to find out if the bizarre events terrorizing her are the work of the paranormal, her own paranoia, or something far more sinister.

Also, my first release, Pulse and Prejudice—the paranormal adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic, which retells the story from Mr. Darcy’s point of view as a vampire—has just been released as an audiobook! (I understand these are very popular with people that go to those places with the machines that they get on to make them get all sweaty…gyms, I think they are called?)  The narrator Tim Campbell is amazing! You must listen to the sample, although it does not do justice to his range of voices—everything from an English Lord to a Covent Garden prostitute! Plus, if you don’t already have an Audible account, Amazon and Amazon UK have a special offer so you can actually get the audiobook of Pulse and Prejudice for free! Here is a link for the audio sample plus info on the free offer:  http://www.colettesaucier.com/pulse-and-prejudice/pulse-and-prejudice-audiobook-sample/

Of course, it is also still available in paperback and from all the typical eBook sources (I can inscribe it as well!). http://www.colettesaucier.com/pulse-prejudice/where-to-find-darcy-vampire/

Pulse and Prejudice: When the haughty and wealthy Fitzwilliam Darcy arrives in the rural county of Hertfordshire, he finds he cannot control his attraction to Elizabeth Bennet – a horrifying thought because, as she is too far below his social standing to ignite his heart, he fears she must appeal to the dark impulses he struggles to suppress.

Set against the vivid backdrop of historical Regency England, this adaptation of Pride and Prejudice follows the cursed Mr. Darcy as he endeavours to overcome both his love and his bloodlust for Miss Elizabeth Bennet.   Although Pulse and Prejudice adheres to the original plot and style of the Jane Austen classic, it is not a “mash-up” but an imaginative, thrilling variation told primarily from Mr. Darcy’s point of view as he descends into the seedier side of London and introduces Elizabeth to a world of passion and the paranormal she never knew existed.

This week, here on Natalie’s blog, I will be giving away one of each of my new releases:  An eBook of Alicia’s Possession (inscribed to you!) AND an Audiobook of Pulse and Prejudice! Please leave a comment stating if you have a preference, and please include your email address for when you win!

What’s Next

I am currently working on another romantic suspense thriller entitled The Widow (formerly Viuda) about a DEA agent who has been working undercover infiltrating the most ruthless drug cartel in the world for four years. After his primary target is murdered by a rival gang, he must convince that man’s widow to become a confidential informant to help bring the cartel down.

After that, I will return to the sequel to Pulse and Prejudice, which is entitled Dearest Bloodiest Elizabeth. I have written about a third of it, but I am at a place that requires in depth historical research, which I try to do when I can. After that, I have so many ideas, I don’t know which one I’ll pick up next!

Upcoming Conferences

August will be quite the busy month for me! First, on August 7th, I will be going to Las Vegas for the Romance Novel Convention. Then the following week I am off to Savannah for my second Authors After Dark conference. There I will be on a few panels, including discussions on—What else?—Paranormal and BDSM! After that, I’ll be staying home awhile until the Indie Romance Convention in October.

I hope to meet a lot of readers at these conferences! Be sure to find me and come say hi. I’m sure I’ll have some sort of swag to give you!

Excerpt from New Release: Alicia’s Possession

“What do you want?” she asked. “I don’t know what you want from me.”

Mason gripped her upper arms, forcing her eyes to meet his. He knew he’d made a mistake the moment her warmth bled through the silk of her robe and into his palms, sending a ripple of sensation up his arms and down his body. “Why did you lie about knowing Judith?” he asked, his voice low and gravelly but not in the terse tone he used to intimidate a witness. No, she might not recognize it, but he could hear his lust cradling each syllable.

She squeezed her eyes tight as if to prevent her tears’ escape, but instead it forced them down her cheeks. “I wasn’t lying. I don’t know her. I don’t remember her. I don’t remember anything.”

He lifted one hand from her arm and brushed the tears from her cheek with his thumb before running it across her bottom lip. Her eyes remained closed, and his chest rose and fell in rhythm with hers. He leaned in close enough to inhale her breath.

“Don’t,” she said without force.

He shuffled his feet forward the few inches required for his body to brush against her breasts. “How can you not remember?”

“Th-the accident.”

He brought his mouth down, barely touching hers, his tongue tasting the salt of tears on her lips—those lips he had wanted to kiss from the first moment they’d met.

“Please,” she said on a puff of air and tried to pull away from him, but he tightened his hold on her arm.

“Please what?”

“Please…don’t kiss me.”

“I think you want me to kiss you.” When she said nothing in protest, he pressed his lips to hers and gently pulled first her top, then her bottom lip into his mouth. He held her chin between his thumb and fist to lift her face.

Tears still streamed down her cheeks, but she opened her eyes and shook her head. “I…I can’t do this.”

Mason trailed his finger down her throat to the opening of her robe, stopping just over her heart, and she trembled with a hitch in her breath.

“What do you mean you didn’t remember her because of the accident?”

“I have…gaps, memory loss.” Her tears had begun to wane.

“I’m going to kiss you again.”

“No,” she whispered when his mouth hovered mere millimeters over hers. He dropped his hand from her arm to the small of her back and pulled her against him, and she gasped at the unmistakable evidence of his arousal. “I’m not ready for this.”

“Because of your injury?”

“Because of the infidelity. My husband. He hurt me.” Her words pinched his heart and he nodded. “I can’t be with a man—any man. I can’t trust anyone. I don’t even trust myself to have the sense or judgment to know who can be trusted. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to trust anyone again.”

Mason laid a soft kiss on her mouth, tugging her bottom lip gently between his teeth. He lifted his face just enough to look at her. In time, he could teach her to trust again, at least to trust him, but it would take patience—and perseverance. He thought she might be worth the effort.

“If you want me to stop,” he told her, “if you really mean it, say ‘apple.’”

Alicia furrowed her brow and blinked before meeting his stare directly. “But I told you to stop.”

“Yes, but you didn’t mean it.” The color rushing into her cheeks proved him right. “I will only stop if you say ‘apple.’ Understand?”

She responded with a single, slow nod, never taking her eyes off him. When he covered her mouth with his, he ran his tongue along the seam of her lips, and she opened for him. He wrapped both arms around her then, holding her tight, and she placed her hands on his shoulders. As his tongue swirled inside her mouth, she leaned against him and released a low, moaning sigh. He allowed the kiss to continue and to deepen, in part because he wanted to prevent her from using the safety word, but primarily because he didn’t want to relinquish her delicious mouth. Although he would never call himself a connoisseur, he could detect the subtle notes of cherry, chocolate, and plum from the wine on her tongue.

About Colette Saucier

Colette Saucier is the bestselling author of Pulse and Prejudice—the paranormal adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic—which retells the story from Mr. Darcy’s point of view as a vampire. Colette was selected a “2013 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Semi-finalist” and Austenprose’s “Debut Author of the Year” for 2012.

Colette has been writing poems, short stories, and novellas since grade school. Her interest in literature led her to marry her college English professor, but eventually a love of history encouraged her to trade up to a British historian. Technical writing has dominated Colette’s career for the past twenty years, but finding little room for creativity in that genre, she dedicated 15 months traveling to Europe and Britain, researching Regency England and vampire lore and literature, to complete her first full-length novel Pulse and Prejudice. She is currently researching and writing a sequel entitled Dearest Bloodiest Elizabeth set in Antebellum New Orleans, as well as the romantic suspense thriller, The Widow.

Colette lives in South Louisiana with her historian husband and their two dogs.

I’m pleased to welcome author Gale Stanley today. Another favorite author on my buy-now list, Gale is stopping by to tell us about her latest release, Symbiotic Mates 3: Talon and the Falconer, available now at Siren-Bookstrand!

Symbiotic Mates 3: Talon and the Falconer (MM)

Hi everyone!

First I want to thank Natalie for letting me stop by to celebrate my new release – Symbiotic Mates 3: Talon and the Falconer.

I get asked that a lot. And a few years ago I wouldn’t have known the answer. Then I read an article in National Geographic and the word jumped out at me. The definition of symbiosis is “a mutually beneficial relationship involving close physical contact between two organisms that aren’t the same species.” It can happen between animals, plants, and fungi. Each organism contributes something that benefits the survival of the other.

Learning about this biological interaction put all kinds of ideas into my head.

My different species are vampires and werewolves—hot alpha predators dependent on each other for their very survival. They’re natural enemies who are suddenly lusting for each other’s blood and bodies…

It’s hard to believe that two years have passed since the first book in the series was released. A lot happened in that time and for a while the series was on hold. I’m happy to say that the revised and expanded books have found a new home at Siren-Bookstrand, and beautiful new covers by Harris Channing.

If you’re not familiar with the Symbiotic Mates leave a comment and your email address for a chance to win the first two e-books in the series – Hunter and the Hawk and Peter and the Wolf. And now here’s a peek at book three.

Symbiotic Mates 3: Talon and the Falconer

This title is offered at a 10% New Release discount. Offer ends midnight CST, June 15th.

[Siren Classic ManLove: Erotic Alternative Paranormal Romance, M/M, vampires, shape-shifters, HEA]

Benjamin Byrd, a lycan falconer, lives like a hermit on the outskirts of Arcadia.  When Talon Crowquill, a vampire-hawk, is shot down, Ben rescues him. Then Ben is mortally wounded and Talon returns the favor. Neither man realizes they’ve forged a connection that can never be broken, and their only hope for survival is to become blood-mates.

Available at Bookstrand:

The full moon always did a job on Benjamin Byrd’s hormones, pheromones, and all the other moans in his lupine body. The cold gray orb pulled at him like it pulled at the ocean tides. It made him do crazy things. Things he wouldn’t normally do. Like go to the Wolf Den.

Ben lived like a lone wolf, but once a month the craving for companionship—spelled S.E.X.—fired up all his nerve endings, and thoughts of the pack drew him like a moth to a flame. Pack mentality was inbred in every wolf. There was no getting away from it, not when a full moon rose in the sky.

So Ben, dressed in a new pair of jeans and a clean black T-shirt, started walking toward the Wolf Den. The closer he got, the more his nerves increased. He hadn’t been back for twenty-nine days, and that visit hadn’t gone well. Harry, the plug-ugly bully, had made a pass at him, and Ben had beaten a hasty retreat. Harry was dead now, and a small part of Ben was glad he wouldn’t be running into the troublemaker tonight. For a second, Ben felt bad. A man shouldn’t think ill of the dead, especially someone who had been murdered. His regret didn’t last too long. Harry had not been a nice person.

Living so far from Arcadia, Ben was out of the loop, but bad news traveled faster than other kinds, and when a pack member was killed by one of his own, that kind of news traveled fastest of all. Hunter Black, one of the alpha’s best enforcers, had torn Harry’s throat out and run off. It was said that Hunter had been granted asylum at the Colony, home of the vampire-hawks. Ben knew Hunter, and in his opinion, if Hunter was guilty, he must have had good reason.

Ben slowed up as he approached the barn-like building that housed the Arcadia Pack’s bar and dance club. He felt eyes following his movement, but he shrugged it off as paranoia. Ben always felt conspicuous around the others.

Entering the club, Ben stood at the door for a few minutes, just looking around. Already, the place smelled of beer, testosterone, and sweat. A few men leered at him suggestively. Ignoring them, and the electronic beat of the dance music, Ben headed to the bar. A drink would go a long way to calm his nerves.

Ben looked for the bartender. Kade was on tonight. He had his back turned, and he was filling mugs with draft beer from the kegs. Suddenly, Ben was very conscious of the way Kade’s ass filled out his snug jeans. The bartender straightened and turned, flashing a sexy grin as if he knew exactly what Ben had been thinking. An unexpected and unwanted jolt of sexual awareness shot straight to Ben’s groin.

Hell, no.

Kade was one hot wolf, but he was cocky and arrogant, definitely not the type of partner Ben was looking for. The bartender intimated him. Already Ben felt his tongue tying itself into knots.

Kade set the mugs on the bar and came over to take Ben’s order. He stared at Ben’s hand on the bar. Ben’s eyes followed the direction of Kade’s gaze.

“Sharp talons,” Ben gave out a shaky laugh. “I wasn’t wearing my glove.”

Kade’s sneer of contempt and ridicule cut deeper than the talon marks on Ben’s hand. “So, what’ll it be, birdman?”

“Bud Light,” Ben replied in a voice so low, the bartender couldn’t hear him.

“What was that again, birdman?”

“Bud Light,” Ben said, a little louder this time.

“A Stud Light for the birdman,” Kade said loudly. Everyone laughed and the bartender set a bottle in front of Ben. “You spend too much time with those damn birds,” Kade spat. “You need a real man in your cage, someone who will ruffle your feathers.”

“Like you?” Ben retorted, hackles rising. He hated Kade’s condescending attitude.

“You should be so lucky,” Kade declared extravagantly.

Fuck you! Biting his lip, Ben grabbed the beer and moved away from the bar.

 I shouldn’t have come.

Slipping through the pack of bodies, he made his way to a shadowy corner and leaned against the wall, trying to ape the attitude of the other wolf-shifters. It wouldn’t work. Ben had never been like the others, and no matter how much he pretended he was, everyone in the pack knew he was different. Too small. Too serious. Too much into birds.

Happy Reading!

Today, it’s my pleasure to welcome author Tamara Hoffa.

Tamara stopped by to share an excerpt and blurb from her latest release, Roping Love, available now at Secret Cravings Publishing and most third party retail sites.

Roping Love

Blurb for Roping Love

Ten Years ago love slipped through Chance’s lasso. This time “He was going after her and she didn’t stand a chance, just like a calf in a chute, he was going to rope her with his love and ride back into her life.”

Carrie Stewart is a dedicated horsewoman. She runs a successful breeding and training program. She is a good friend, a good sister and a favorite aunt, but she has been burned by love. Carrie has never gotten over her first love, Chance Ryan. After ten years of absence Chance shows back up in her life. Should she risk her heart again, with the man who left it broken at her feet in the past? Chance has some serious work ahead of him to win back the one woman he could never forget.

Excerpt taken from Roping Love

Chance felt like he’d been thrown from a bucking bronco. Ten years. He hadn’t seen her in ten years. And it was just like before. God, she was even more beautiful than she had been at eighteen. Time had matured her body, her curves a little fuller than they had been. Her hair was short now, almost boyish in length, but curling softly around her face it looked feminine and flirty. It was a deeper shade of blonde now too, a golden honey color that looked stunning against her sun-bronzed skin. What the hell was she doing here? And who the hell was the kid with her? Chance was busy doing mental math, the kid looked nine or ten. Carrie had called him several times in the months after he left. He’d never returned her calls. Could she have been trying to tell him she was pregnant? No it couldn’t be, she would have told him. Wouldn’t she have?

“I’d say small world, but since it really is a small world and we haven’t run into each other in ten years…”

Carrie arched one eyebrow, he always loved when she did that, it looked so haughty and hot.

“What brings you here?” Chance asked

“Same as you I guess, looking for some brood mares.”

“Actually, we’re selling this mare.” Nodding at the other, nearly forgotten man in the stall. “This is my brother, Chase.”

“Nice to meet you,” Carrie said, looking down at Tyler, “Well, we need to get to the Coliseum, Tyler wants to see the cutting.” Keeping her arm around his shoulders they turned to leave.

“We should talk,” Chance said

Carrie looked over her shoulder and stared him straight in the eye. “I think the time for talking is long past.”

“I really need to talk to you.”

“There’s nothing left to say.”
